@taurson showed me da wey, so I made some adjustments. Much better, methinks. Thanks, Taur! <3

How'd you get into art? How'd you get into ponies?

I think I answered this already, so I’ll try to keep it (relatively) short.

Been drawing pretty much all my life, though I did take a huge break from nearly anything artistic for most of my adult life. Jobs and relationships just kinda sucked the creativity out of me.

I got into ponies because the internet in general was shitting on “bronies” so hard. When there’s that much sudden vitriol towards something so innocuous, I must investigate. Just like most other people, grown men watching a reboot of something that ran parallel to my childhood–what essentially boiled down to a 30 minute toy commercial for girls that I never even gave a second thought to–was a bit disconcerting. But the memes were funny, and the art was good.

A coworker of mine suddenly brought it up in conversation one day, “So what do you think about those bronies anyway? Fucking weird, right?” I’d already started empathizing with the fandom by that point, though I hadn’t watched the show. But that was enough to push me into the first episode. What did I have to lose? I was depressed, my marriage was pretty much over, why not watch it, see what the actual fuss is about?

Watched the premiere that night, rest of the season throughout the week. At Party of One I was hooked. Took a few years of prodding before I felt comfortable enough to pick up a pencil and attempt to draw a horse. And the rest is history, albeit brief and weird.

Goddammit, that wasn’t short at all. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

would you rather be an alicorn in the human world, or an earth pony in the mlp world

Earth pony, EZ.

People shit on “mud ponies” because they can’t fart clouds or ejaculate sparks from their headbones. Well, they don’t need to. They’re the strongest, most dextrous and durable ponies, have a natural affinity for art, food, and music as well as nature, and are the fastest on land. I have no desire to be able to fly or cast spells, so there’s no appeal to me.

Alicorn in the human world would always be looking over their shoulder, someone always trying to catch you, ride you, turn your horn into medicine. I’ll pass!
