This new job is kicking my ass. I went from drawing multiple times a day to barely once a week. That’s unacceptable by my own standards. I’m not sure what to do though, besides tough it out. But if this is how it feels after barely three weeks, prospects for improvement are not looking bright. It literally hurt to do this sketch, my fingers are so sore.

For the last few of you still waiting for your commissions, I apologize. I only get one day off a week now, and I spend most of that recuperating and running all my errands. I hate making y’all wait, so thanks again for your patience.

How I’ve been feeling the past month or so.

On the bright side, I landed a new job! There’s a lot of good attached to this: higher pay, less hours, actual benefits, reasonable shifts, and best of all, I won’t be in constant pain (hopefully). Art’s no fun when you can’t use your hands properly, in case anyone’s been wondering why I tend to only do one drawing a week, if that.

Unfortunately, I don’t start until next month, unless something goes terribly wrong right with a few of the other potential new hires. Until then, thanks for all of y’all’s support. <3

So, across several days for a total of 10 hours of work, I may have bit off more than I could chew with this one. I ended redoing a lot of things twice, and am still not too happy with the final result, but as they say, “Finished, not perfect.” So with some final tinkering I had to call it on this. Hope it’s not too bad! 

But what if I want it to escalate further?

I got home a bit late, but I couldn’t go to bed before I wished @finalskies the happiest of birthdays.

Way back in the olden days (I joined the fandom towards the end of season 2), I took refuge in /r/mylittlepony. I hadn’t drawn anything in years, but heir-of-rick’s art was some of the first inspiration I had to get back into it (the rest being Berrytube). I wanted to draw cute, funny ponies just like he did. He’s given so much helpful advice, inspiration, and encouragement to budding artists over the years, I’m sure he’s indirectly responsible for more fandom art than any single other person. I consider him my first pony art senpai, though I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to him directly. Still, I respect the hell out of him, ludicrously big ears and all.
